Come discover how a combination of healthy eating and activity
can build a healthier you! The Rite Bite Healthy Balance Program
is a comprehensive system that helps you gain the knowledge needed
to maintain your healthy weight and lifestyle habits. Our program
allows you to work directly with a dietitian on a weekly basis
to review your progress and provide the support you need to be
successful. The Rite Bite focuses on choosing the “Rite” foods
in the “Rite” portions and no food groups are eliminated.
You are given the flexibility to make your own choices based on
your specific goals and preferences. A free fitness assessment
is also included in any of our on-site weight management packages.
Keys to the Program-
- Food and physical activity records (Lifestyle Journal and Physical Activity Journal) to assist you in evaluating and tracking your eating and physical activity habits.
- A Personalized Nutrition Plan to help you achieve your goals!
- Weekly Lifestyle principles and "challenges" focusing on core nutrition and fitness concepts to help yuo achieve a healthy lifestyle.
Our program is based on an accounting system we call The Rite
Bite Exchanges. The
Rite Bite Lifestyle Journal was created
to help you make balanced choices. The first step in the weight loss process is to determine the
number of calories necessary for you to maintain your present
body weight. Eating fewer calories than this will cause weight loss.
Your dietitian will determine your calorie level based on the
information
gathered during your initial assessment. You may also choose
to have us measure your resting metabolic rate (RMR). Using the
MedGem®,
the only FDA-approved handheld device on the market, we can obtain
a very accurate measure of your resting energy expenditure. You may also chose to follow a very low calorie diet under the strict supervision of our physician.

Medical Nutrition Therapy is the application of nutritional interventions to
help manage or prevent certain medical conditions. Many medical conditions can
occur due to stress and poor dietary habits. Chronic health problems such as
obesity, diabetes, and hypertension can be caused by poor food choices and lifestyle
habits. Many of these medical conditions can be managed, corrected or prevented
through nutrition and fitness interventions.
Our
highly qualified nutrition
experts will work with you individually to obtain
lasting results.
During our initial nutritional assessment we
will review your medical
history, laboratory values, and other nutrition related
information to help you set realistic goals and support you
throughout your journey to better health. Our registered dietitians
are Medicare
providers, and we will be happy to work with your
insurance companies
to obtain coverage for our services. We also believe
strongly in working with your physician to help monitor
your progress.
Specific conditions that can be treated by medical nutrition
therapy include: obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides,
diabetes, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, hypertension,
and many others.
Knowing your resting metabolic rate is the key managing your
weight and fitness goals. We use the New Leaf Metabolic Training system that will determine your personal metabolic profile! From this assessment, you will know exactly how many calories you should consume each day in order to meet your goals.
Metabolism is the rate
at which your body burns calories. Your metabolism can differ
greatly
from others who share the same height, weight, gender and
age.
Since metabolism can change over time, understanding your
unique metabolism is essential for management of weight and
general fitness.
Trying to manage weight without an accurate RMR is like balancing a checkbook
without knowing how much money is being spent. The Rite Bite
Wellness Center determines metabolic measurements using The New Leaf Metabolic System by MedGraphics.

(including one weekend day) and we will compare your records
with over 100
nutrients to evaluate your food selections. A form that you can download is available in our Resources and Tools. You will receive

to improve your eating habits. Click on Marketplace for details.
Have you ever wondered how many calories are in your favorite
family recipe? We can now analyze your recipes and create a “nutrition
fact” label - just like the one you see on food labels.
Similar to our Diet Analysis, we can take your favorite family
recipe and analyze it for nutritional content. Your computerized
results will tell you calorie, fat, protein, carbohydrate values
and much more. Also included will be a quick guide to reading food
labels. If you should decide your recipe needs a “makeover,” we
are here to help. A form that you can download is available in our Resources and Tools. Let us make suggestions on how to make your family
favorites more nutritious. Click on Marketplace for details.
